Another week at the top of the Billboard 200 for Post Malone (Austin Richard Post), after breaking streaming records in the first week of release.
In just one week Malone’s Beerbongs & Bentleys accumulated over 431 million streams surpassing previous record holder Drake with 385 million streams for More Life in March according to Billboard.
At only 22 the Texas raised rapper is continuing his success since his rise to fame in 2010 with debut single “White Iverson”. His ability to turn his emotions and his self confessed loneliness into music can really be celebrated and heard in his music. Musically his style is a mixture of hip-hop, R&B, and grunge; it’s smooth and mellow with thick grungy tones. Beerbongs & Bentleys just proves how fluid his style of genre actually is, each song has elements from different genres along with his delivery of singing and rapping. You can even hear elements of country especially in Stay, a beautiful song that is dreamlike and easy to listen to.
It’s not hard to see why this album is breaking records Malone can appeal to all sorts of different demographics. I highly recommended giving Beerbongs & Bentleys a listen; you’ll definitely have this album on a loop.
